A remarkable survivor of Scottish banking history, this Bank of Scotland Twenty Pounds note is dated 27th March 1958. This is a sister note to the previous listing, featuring the same grand, large-format design that defined the mid-century Scottish aesthetic.

The obverse is rich with symbolic detail, featuring the bank's heraldic crest and the central blue medallion portrait of Queen Victoria. This issue is hand-signed (printed) by Lord Bilsland as Governor and William Watson as Treasurer. Printed on high-quality paper with a wide security margin, these notes were a significant sum of money in the 1950s and are now prized by collectors for their elegance and scarcity.
